Zakir Hussain Eternal: Celebrating 75 Years of Genius is an evening dedicated to the memory and musical legacy of Zakir Hussain. Presented by the Zakir Hussain Institute of Music in partnership with the World Music Institute, the concert is scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2026, at 8:00 PM at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage.
Conceived as a homage on the eve of his 75th birth anniversary, the program brings together an ensemble of Zakir Hussain’s close associates and longtime collaborators. The gathering reflects the wide musical circles he moved in and the cross-cultural dialogue he encouraged through his work. His career, spanning Indian classical music and global collaborations, is acknowledged as a bridge between traditions and contemporary musical expression.
