Presented as part of Darbar Festival 2026, this exceptional concert brings together two distinguished exponents of Hindustani classical music whose artistry is rooted in the profound exploration of raga. Representing two celebrated musical lineages, Ustad Irshad Khan and Pandit Prasad Khaparde offer audiences a rare opportunity to experience instrumental and vocal traditions within a single performance.

The first half features Ustad Irshad Khan, an internationally acclaimed sitar maestro of the Imdadkhani Gharana, a lineage renowned for its lyrical approach and vocal-inspired melodic expression. Accompanied by Ishaan Ghosh on tabla, Irshad Khan's performance highlights the elegance, subtlety, and emotional depth that have made his music admired by audiences worldwide.

Following the interval, the concert shifts to the vocal tradition of the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana with a recital by Pandit Prasad Khaparde, a senior disciple of the late Ustad Rashid Khan. Known for his refined artistry, expansive raga interpretation, and expressive vocalism, Khaparde is joined by Ajay Joglekar (Harmonium), Farooque Latif Khan (Sarangi), and Rupak Bhattacharjee (Tabla). Together, they present a performance that reflects the richness, sophistication, and enduring legacy of Hindustani classical music.
