Malhar Festival 2026 will be presented on 1 August 2026 at Vivekananda Hall, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, Kolkata. Organised by the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, the festival brings together leading exponents of Hindustani classical music for an evening of vocal and instrumental performances.

The programme opens with a flute and santoor duet by Vivek Sonar and Madan Oak, accompanied on tabla by Subrata Bhattacharya. The artists will present a collaborative recital exploring the melodic dialogue between bansuri and santoor within the Hindustani classical tradition.

The festival continues with a Hindustani classical vocal recital by Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan, accompanied by Pandit Samar Saha on tabla, Sarwar Hussain on sarangi, and Gaurab Chatterjee on harmonium. A senior vocalist of the Kirana Gharana, Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan, is known for his detailed raga development, traditional khayal presentation, and extensive concert career in India and abroad.

The concluding performance features a sarod recital by Shiraz Ali Khan, accompanied by Pandit Tanmoy Bose on tabla. Representing one of the distinguished lineages of Hindustani instrumental music, Shiraz Ali Khan presents the expressive tradition of the sarod in a recital that combines alap, jod, jhala, and compositions in various talas.

Malhar Festival is one of the annual Indian classical music festivals presented by the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture and forms part of its continuing efforts to promote Hindustani classical music through curated concerts featuring established maestros and accomplished accompanists. The programme will be compered by Korak Basu.
