Taal Samarpan – The Tabla Mahotsav is a percussion-focused festival dedicated as a tribute to the legendary tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain. The event celebrates the rhythmic traditions of Indian classical music through performances by emerging and established tabla and percussion artists.
The festival will take place on 15 March 2026 at Aurangabadkar Hall, Nashik, and will be presented in two sessions. The morning session at 10:00 AM features performances by Hemant Joshi and Parth Bhumkar, while the evening session at 6:00 PM presents performances by Soham Gorane and Vikas Belukar. The performances will include lehra accompaniment by Nacheet Hardas and Anand Rajopadhyay, supporting the rhythmic improvisations of the tabla artists.
Conceptualized by Prashant Junnare and Sangeet Kulkarni, the festival is presented by Prashant, in association with Baba’s Theaters. Designed as a platform to highlight the artistry of tabla and percussion, Taal Samarpan brings together musicians and audiences to celebrate the tradition, technique, and evolving legacy of Indian classical rhythm.
