Parth Bhumkar is an Indian percussionist known primarily as a pakhawaj exponent, while also being associated with tabla performance in collaborative and competitive contexts. He represents the tradition of Hindustani classical rhythm instruments and has developed a performance style that reflects both technical command and traditional tala knowledge.

He received his training under Pt. Govind Bhilare and Pt. Tukaram Bhumkar, who guided him in the classical pakhawaj repertoire and rhythmic framework of Hindustani music. Through the guru-shishya tradition, he developed proficiency in presenting complex tala structures and compositions associated with pakhawaj performance. His talent has been recognized through awards, including first prize in the Saptak Shastriya Taal Vadya Competition in Ahmedabad, one of the notable competitions dedicated to classical percussion.

As a performing artist, Parth Bhumkar has appeared at several music festivals and collaborative projects. His performances include a pakhawaj duet with Rohit Khavle at the Aundh Sangeet Mahotsav (2025) and accompaniment in productions such as “Parampara Ke Padchinha” at Gaanasaraswati Mahotsav, choreographed by Vidushi Shama Bhate. He has also participated in percussion collaborations like “Taal Padmadeep,” where pakhawaj interacts with instruments such as tabla, drums, and cajón, highlighting the evolving presentation of Indian percussion traditions.
