The 55th All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya & Sangeet Sammelan, presented by Pracheen Kala Kendra, opens on 12 March 2026 at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, with an evening dedicated to Hindustani classical music and Bharatanatyam.
The evening begins with a vocal recital by Indrani Mukherjee, presenting Khayal and Thumri. She is accompanied by Ustad Akram Khan on tabla and Dr. Vinay Kumar Mishra on harmonium, offering a traditional concert experience with melodic and rhythmic support.
The second half features a Bharatanatyam performance by Vidhya Subramanian along with her troupe, presenting choreography rooted in the Vazhuvoor style.
Part of a long-running national festival, this edition continues the tradition of presenting established and emerging artists on a single platform.

Vinay Mishra is a Hindustani harmonium artist, scholar (Ph.D., Delhi), and A-grade All India Radio performer. Trained under Ustad Mehtab Khan and Pt. Appa Saheb Jalgaonkar, he performs globally
Akram Khan
Tabla
Ustad Akram Khan is a 7th-gen Ajrada Gharana tabla player, trained by his great-grandfather and Ustad Niazu Khan. His father was Ustad Hashmat Ali Khan.
