Tagore | Theatre Chandigarh

Tagore Theatre, located in Sector 18B, Chandigarh, is a prominent cultural venue known for hosting theatre productions, music concerts, and a wide range of artistic and community events. Designed by architect Aditya Prakash, a member of Le Corbusier’s Chandigarh Capital Project team, the theatre has been an integral part of the city’s cultural landscape since the early 1960s.

The auditorium has a seating capacity of 801, including a balcony section, and is structured to accommodate performances with a fixed seating arrangement. The venue is managed by the Tagore Theatre Society, established in 1962, and continues to serve as a key platform for cultural programming in the region.

Renovated in 2008, the theater offers updated facilities, including an air-conditioned hall and supporting infrastructure for events. Its central location near the hockey stadium makes it accessible for audiences and performers.
