Sacred Strings: An Intimate Evening of Sitar with Shakir Khan brings the rich tradition of the Etawah Gharana to Dublin through a special live performance at Pearse Museum, St. Enda's Park. Presented by the Indian Classical Music Society of Ireland in collaboration with Pearse Museum, the concert features sitar virtuoso Shakir Khan, one of the leading representatives of his musical lineage and recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.
Accompanying him on tabla is Dublin-based percussionist Sanatan Shrivastava. The performance offers audiences an opportunity to experience the depth of Hindustani classical music through raga improvisation, melodic expression, and rhythmic dialogue in an intimate cultural setting.
