Basant Bahar Presents: Splendor of Sitar with Purbayan Chatterjee

The Basant Bahar Indian Classical Music series presents a distinguished evening of Hindustani classical music at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts. The concert features a sitar performance by Purbayan Chatterjee, a highly esteemed and versatile sitar virtuoso from India, known for his exceptional skills and innovative approach to music. 

The artist will be accompanied by Amit Kavthekar on tabla, a talented percussionist who was groomed at an early age by the legendary Ustad Allarakha and taught tabla intricacies by Ustad Zakir Hussain. The programme offers audiences an opportunity to experience mesmerizing, soulful melodies and traditional Indian classical music seamlessly blended with contemporary influences.
