Sacred Strings: Shakir Khan in Concert at St Anne's Church, Cork

Sacred Strings presents an intimate and immersive evening of Indian classical music centred around the expressive beauty of the sitar. Hosted by the Indian Classical Music Society of Ireland at St Anne's Church, Shandon Bells & Tower, the concert offers audiences an opportunity to experience the meditative and deeply emotive world of Hindustani classical music in a unique and intimate setting. 

The evening features acclaimed sitar virtuoso Shakir Khan, whose performances beautifully blend the rich legacy of the Imdadkhani tradition with his own expressive artistry and improvisational brilliance. Joining him is accomplished tabla artist Nitin Prabhakar, whose rhythmic accompaniment creates an engaging musical dialogue that lies at the heart of Indian classical performance. Supporting the presentation is Dara O'Brien on tanpura, providing the melodic foundation that enriches the concert's sonic landscape.
