As part of its 70-year milestone celebrations, Sangit Mahabharati presents a two-day masterclass led by Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, Padma Vibhushan awardee and a senior exponent of Carnatic percussion.

The sessions focus on rhythm not only as a technique but also as vibration, awareness, and shared musical space. Participants will engage with listening, interaction, improvisation, movement, and artistic presence, moving beyond structured form and instrument-specific boundaries.

Open to percussionists, vocalists, instrumentalists, composers, dancers, and serious practitioners across traditions, the masterclass offers an opportunity to learn directly from a musician whose career spans decades of performance and pedagogy.
