Mangalotsav is a tribute concert dedicated to the legendary Padma Vibhushan Vidushi Girija Devi. The event takes place at Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi on 7 May 2026, starting at 18:15. Entry is free for all attendees. The evening features performances by some of the most respected artists in Hindustani classical music. Sitar maestro Purbayan Chatterjee shares the stage with Padma Shri Shubha Mudgal, known for her soulful renditions and deep understanding of raga structures. Tabla virtuoso Dr. Aneesh Pradhan, celebrated for his technical mastery and scholarly approach, joins them, along with harmonium exponent Dr. Vinay Mishra, whose artistry has been admired for years. Kathak dancer Pt. Shubh Maharaj and sarangi player Ustad Murad Ali Khan also contribute to the programme. Ms Sadhna Shrivastav compères the event, guiding the audience through the performances. The concert is an opportunity to experience rare bandishes and intricate raga presentations, reflecting the rich tradition of Hindustani classical music. The gathering honours Girija Devi’s legacy while celebrating the continuity of the art form through contemporary maestros.
