About Kamani Auditorium
Kamani Auditorium is located at 1, Copernicus Marg, Mandi House, New Delhi, at the heart of the city’s cultural zone. Since its establishment, it has hosted national and international presentations across theater, dance, and music, becoming one of Delhi’s most recognizable performance spaces. The main auditorium seats 625 patrons (484 in the stalls and 141 in the balcony) and is widely used for major classical and contemporary productions.
Beyond the primary theater, the Kamani campus functions as a multi-venue cultural complex. It includes a 19,500 sq. ft. open-air arena designed for concerts, interdisciplinary performances, talks, workshops, festivals, and public gatherings. The basement-level Jhankar Hall provides an intimate, flexible setting for lecture-demonstrations, chamber concerts, rehearsals, seminars, screenings, and academic or institutional programs, with a small raised platform for performance use.
The main stage measures approximately 55 feet in width and 51 feet in depth, with a wooden floor and a vertical height exceeding 46 feet. It is equipped with extensive rigging, flying bars, and front-of-house positions, supporting complex сценography and lighting design. The auditorium is known for its acoustics and is fitted with professional sound and lighting systems, including a 24-channel digital mixer and computerized lighting control.
Architecturally designed for both audience comfort and backstage efficiency, Kamani Auditorium provides green rooms, technical facilities, coordinated communication systems, and on-site security infrastructure. Through its integrated venues and technical capacity, Kamani continues to function as a central platform for performances, festivals, residencies, educational initiatives, and large-scale cultural collaborations in Delhi.
