Presented as part of the Darbar Festival 2026, this special concert brings together two outstanding artists who represent the rich diversity of Indian classical music. The first half features Debanjan Bhattacharjee, one of the most innovative sarod players of his generation, known for his pioneering Dhrupad Sarod approach that adapts the meditative depth and grandeur of the dhrupad tradition to the sarod. Accompanied by Rupak Bhattacharjee on tabla, his performance explores the profound melodic and rhythmic possibilities of Hindustani classical music.

Following the interval, the concert shifts to the vibrant world of Carnatic music with celebrated vocalist Spoorthi Rao. Trained under the renowned Ranjani–Gayatri duo, she presents a traditional Carnatic recital supported by an accomplished ensemble featuring B. Anantha Krishnan (Violin), Sai Giridhar (Mridangam), and Vazhappally R. Krishnakumar (Ghatam). Together, they showcase the intricate ragas, rhythmic sophistication, and expressive depth that define South Indian classical music.

Bringing Hindustani and Carnatic traditions onto a single stage, this concert offers audiences an exceptional opportunity to experience two distinct yet interconnected streams of Indian classical music through performances by some of today's most exciting artists.
