Biography

Sai Giridhar Kuchibhotla is a Carnatic percussionist specializing in the mridangam. He was born on 21 May 1984 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He received his mridangam training under Shri M. L. N. Raju and Shri Parupalli S. Phalgun.

He is an A-grade artist of All India Radio and has performed at numerous prestigious music festivals in India and abroad. His concert career includes participation in recognised cultural platforms and collaborative performances within the Carnatic music circuit.

In 2007, he received a Gold Medal for his mridangam performance at the 12th National Youth Festival in Pune. He also has several recordings to his credit and has conducted mridangam workshops at various music institutions, contributing to music education and outreach.

In recognition of his contribution to Carnatic instrumental music, he was awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar by the Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2016.
