Darbar Academy Presents: An Intimate 3-Hour Sitar Masterclass at Darbar Arts Lab

This event showcases a highly prestigious and culturally enriching instrumental masterclass titled "Fundamentals of Sitar with Srijanee Banerjee (In-person Workshop)". This grand afternoon centers on immersive, hands-on instructional training built specifically for beginners looking to overcome the initial hurdles of learning the sitar. The intensive session features a highly accomplished artist and ITC scholar guiding a small group through essential foundational elements, including accurate instrument tuning, left- and right-hand coordination, and the signature expressive sliding technique known as meend. By the end of this specialized experience, participants will cross the threshold of uncertainty to confidently perform their very first traditional composition (gat) in the legendary and soulful Raga Yaman. Hosted inside a premier creative workspace in London, this program provides dedicated music lovers and aspiring musicians an intimate, highly personalized live training assembly.
