Srijanee Banerjee is a Kolkata-based Hindustani sitarist and ITC SRA scholar, trained under Pt. Partha Chatterjee, known for raga-based performances and classical training.

Biography

Srijanee Banerjee is a Hindustani classical sitar artist from Kolkata, recognized for her technical precision and melodic depth in raga performance. She began her musical training under her father, Shri Chandan Banerjee, and later continued advanced studies under Pandit Ravi Sen and Dr. Niladri Sen, developing a strong foundation in traditional sitar repertoire.

Since 2014, she has been a scholar at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, where she trains under Pandit Partha Chatterjee. Her performances reflect structured raga development, combining alap, jod, and gat-based presentations with a focus on clarity and tonal control.

In addition to her musical career, Srijanee Banerjee holds a master's degree in modern history from the University of Calcutta. Her continued participation in concerts, academic training, and institutional platforms positions her within the emerging generation of Hindustani instrumentalists.
