Thirumakalam T.S. Pandian & Guruvayur S Sreeram – Nagaswaram Concert | Music Academy Madras (19 March 2026)

A Nagaswaram concert featuring Thirumakalam T.S. Pandian and Guruvayur S. Sreeram will be presented at The Music Academy, Madras, on Thursday, 19 March 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The performance will take place at Kasturi Srinivasan Hall in Chennai as part of the institution’s Endowment Programme series.

Thirumakalam T.S. Pandian and Guruvayur S. Sreeram are known for presenting traditional Mangala Isai and Carnatic repertoire on the Nagaswaram, an important wind instrument in South Indian classical and temple music traditions. They will be accompanied by percussion artists Villupuram K.S. Kamaraj and Vedaranyam V.L. Harish on the thavil, providing rhythmic support that is central to the Nagaswaram–Thavil concert format.

The concert is organized under an endowment instituted by the families of Sri Narayanan Nadadhur and Sri Srinivasan Nadadhur in memory of their parents, Smt. Rajamma and Sri N. Gopalaswami, former Chief Election Commissioner of India. The program forms part of the Music Academy’s ongoing effort to present traditional Carnatic music and support classical instrumental performances.
