Sur & Saaz is a Hindustani classical music concert presented by the Dedhia Music Foundation, scheduled for 24 April 2026 at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai. The event brings together two leading figures of Indian classical music—Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, one of the foremost vocalists of the Gwalior, Jaipur, and Agra traditions, and Purbayan Chatterjee, an internationally acclaimed sitar player known for his expressive and innovative approach to the instrument.

The concert is conceived as a musical dialogue between vocal music (sur) and instrumental expression (saaz), presenting audiences with a unique opportunity to experience two complementary forms of Hindustani classical performance on a single stage. Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar’s vocal presentation is known for its depth in raga interpretation and adherence to traditional aesthetics, while Purbayan Chatterjee’s sitar playing reflects both classical discipline and contemporary musical sensibility.

Hosted at the Nehru Centre auditorium in Worli, a venue known for hosting major cultural events in Mumbai, the evening aims to offer listeners an immersive classical music experience. Organized by the Dedhia Music Foundation, the concert continues the foundation’s efforts to present prominent Indian classical musicians and create platforms where audiences can engage closely with the tradition of live Hindustani classical music performance.
