“Dances of India” is a classical dance presentation organized as part of NAAD Season 5 by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in association with the Senhati Pandit Shankar Ghosh Tabla Foundation. The series is curated by tabla maestro Bickram Ghosh and focuses on presenting major traditions of Indian classical performing arts through curated stage productions.
The event will be held at GD Birla Sabhagar in Kolkata on 21 March 2026 from 6:00 PM onwards. The program features Kathakali performances by Ramyani Roy and Prolay Sarkar, presenting the visual richness and dramatic storytelling of the classical dance-drama tradition of Kerala.
“Dances of India” brings together classical dance traditions on a single stage, offering audiences an opportunity to experience the diversity of India’s performing arts heritage. As part of the NAAD concert series, the event contributes to the presentation and promotion of Indian classical dance within Kolkata’s cultural landscape.
