Barkha Ritu 2026: Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar and Abhishek Raghuram Live in Chennai

Barkha Ritu 2026 marks the 25th edition of Banyan Tree's annual festival dedicated to the musical spirit of the monsoon. Inspired by rain-themed ragas that have shaped both Hindustani and Carnatic traditions, the festival brings together leading classical musicians for an evening celebrating melody, improvisation, and seasonal expression. Held at Narada Gana Sabha Auditorium in Chennai, the festival continues its long-standing tradition of presenting concerts that explore the rich emotional landscape of Indian classical music through compositions associated with the rainy season.

This edition features acclaimed Hindustani classical vocalist Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar, one of the foremost exponents of the Mewati Gharana, alongside celebrated Carnatic vocalist Abhishek Raghuram, known for his dynamic musical approach and command over the Carnatic tradition. Together, the artists represent two distinguished streams of Indian classical music, making the festival a unique confluence of musical traditions and artistic excellence.
