Sanjeev Abhyankar

Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar is an acclaimed Hindustani classical vocalist of the Mewati Gharana and one of the foremost disciples of Pandit Jasraj. A child prodigy, he began performing publicly at the age of eleven after receiving early training from his mother, Dr Shobha Abhyankar, and Pandit Gangadharbua Pimpalkhare. Over a career spanning four decades, he has presented concerts in more than 200 cities worldwide and recorded over 60 albums covering khayal, bhajans, devotional music, and playback singing. A recipient of the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer and the Kumar Gandharva National Award, Abhyankar is widely respected for preserving the rich traditions of Hindustani classical music while reaching audiences through devotional and contemporary musical forms.
