Biography
Sridhar Parthasarathy’s training in mridangam began at around six years of age with guru Karaikudi R. Chandramouli in the Carnatic tradition. His work as a percussionist has included accompaniment for established Carnatic artists such as D. K. Pattammal, Madurai G. S. Mani, M. Balamurali Krishna, and Ranganatha Sharma, as well as performances in jugalbandis with musicians like Shankar Mahadevan, Rattan Mohan Sharma, Sanjeev Abhyankar, and Nandkishor Muley. He has also been involved with rhythm ensembles featuring artists including T. H. “Vikku” Vinayakaram, Louis Banks, Ranjit Barot, Fazal Qureshi, and Taufiq Qureshi, and contributed to the album Miles From India (2008).
