Rasa Engineering Workshop with Meera Sreenarayanan – Boston Adavu at The Dance Complex

Rasa Engineering: An Introduction is a Bharatanatyam workshop led by dancer Meera Sreenarayanan, presented in collaboration with Boston Adavu, The Dance Complex, and the Council of Indian Fine Arts (CIFA). The workshop focuses on the concept of rasa, a fundamental aesthetic principle in Indian classical dance and theatre that explores emotional expression and narrative interpretation.

Scheduled from 12 April to 14 April 2026, the workshop will take place at The Dance Complex, 536 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, Massachusetts. The sessions are structured across multiple days, with the opening session on April 12 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (EST), followed by additional sessions on April 13 and 14 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM (EST).

Designed for dancers and students of Indian classical dance, the workshop introduces participants to expressive techniques used in Bharatanatyam, focusing on abhinaya, emotional nuance, and storytelling through movement. Organized by Boston Adavu, the event forms part of the community’s ongoing initiatives to provide learning opportunities, artist interactions, and educational programs related to Indian classical dance in the Boston area.
