Meera Sreenarayanan, a Mumbai-based Bharatanatyam artist from Kerala, performs, teaches, and choreographs. She blends classical technique with expressive abhinaya and modern styles.

Biography

Meera Sreenarayanan is a professionally trained Bharatanatyam dancer based in Mumbai, with roots in Kerala. She began her dance training at the age of four under Prakash Choondal and later trained with R. L. V. Anand and Nirmala Nagaraj (Kalakshetra). She is currently receiving advanced guidance from Acharya Indira Kadambi and G. Venu. In addition to Bharatanatyam, she has training in Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, and Indian folk dance.

As a performer, Meera has presented her work at major cultural platforms in India and abroad, including venues such as the Madras Music Academy and NCPA Mumbai. Her performances focus on classical repertoire, with particular attention to narrative clarity, rhythmic structure, and expressive detail.

She is also active in the field of arts education and choreography. Meera is the founder of Tatdhii Arts and Learning, an initiative aimed at promoting classical performing arts and encouraging interdisciplinary exploration, including connections between dance and science.

Academically, she holds a Gold Medal in Physics, a master’s degree in Physics, and a master’s degree in Bharatanatyam, along with a Diploma in Nritya Shastra. Her recognitions include the Guru Smt. Poonamtai Murdeshwar Smruti Puraskar and the Best Performer Award from the Madras Music Academy.
