Mischief Dance – Odissi Dance Production by Sharmila Biswas at GD Birla Sabhagar

Mischief Dance is an Odissi dance presentation choreographed by Sharmila Biswas and performed by the OVM Repertory, exploring expressive storytelling and character-driven narratives from Indian mythology and classical literature. The production highlights dramatic interaction and emotional expression through the vocabulary of Odissi dance.

The performance will take place on 27 March 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM at GD Birla Sabhagar, Kolkata. The presentation draws inspiration from episodes such as the playful yet dramatic exchanges between Krishna and Satyabhama, where humor, emotion, and theatricality become central to the narrative experience.

Presented by StoryTellers in association with Sparsh Studio for Performing Arts and Odissi Vision & Movement Centre, the production focuses on the expressive aspects of classical dance. Through choreography, music, and abhinaya, Mischief Dance presents mythological themes with a contemporary stage interpretation while maintaining the aesthetic traditions of Odissi.
