Acclaimed vocalist Manjiri Asanare-Kelkar brings the rich musical heritage of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana to audiences in Washington through an evening of refined and expressive Hindustani classical music. Born into a family deeply rooted in music, she inherited the traditions of the gharana through the guidance of Pt. Kanetkar and received her early musical training from her father, tabla artist Anand Asanare, as well as Pt. C. T. Mhaiskar of Sangli. 

Known for her polished vocal style, open aakaar, and graceful melodic movements, Manjiri's performances beautifully combine technical mastery with emotional depth. Accompanied by Sanjay Deshpande on tabla and Dnyaneshwar Sonawane on harmonium, the recital promises an immersive journey through the intricate ragas and aesthetics of the Jaipur-Atrauli tradition.
