Biography
Siddharth Padiyar is a Hindustani classical tabla artist with over two decades of rigorous training under the guidance of his gurus. Rooted in the traditional discipline of the instrument, his musicianship reflects clarity of rhythm, sensitivity to form, and adaptability across performance contexts. For more than seven years, he has been active as a professional musician, engaging with classical concerts as well as interdisciplinary platforms.
As a performer, Siddharth has had the opportunity to collaborate and share the stage with eminent musicians, including Shubha Mudgal, Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, and Sudhir Nayak. His experience extends beyond classical accompaniment to include theater and dance productions, where rhythmic design and responsiveness play a central role. This breadth has shaped him into a versatile artist capable of engaging with diverse musical languages.
Alongside performance, Siddharth is committed to pedagogy. He has been teaching tabla for over five years, working with students at different levels and contributing to the transmission of Hindustani rhythmic tradition. His teaching integrates foundational techniques with an awareness of contemporary learning methods and evolving technological tools.
He has participated in and contributed to collaborative initiatives such as Dhamaal, a project celebrating percussion traditions across India, and Serendipity Soundscapes Presents: The Maverick Playlist, an initiative of the Serendipity Arts Festival that brings together distinctive sounds of the subcontinent in curated concert formats. Siddharth has also engaged in music projects with international artists, reflecting his openness to cross-cultural exchange.
