Abhed Abhisheki

Abhed Abhisheki’s musical journey began at the age of four, placing him in direct continuity with a long and respected family tradition of Hindustani classical music. He is the son of Pt. Shounak Abhisheki and is part of a lineage shaped by generations of performers, composers, and teachers who have contributed significantly to the classical stage.

His initial training came under Smt. Aparna Kelkar, where he developed early grounding in voice culture, raga, and rhythmic awareness. He now continues his education under the guidance of his father, allowing learning to unfold within a close guru-shishya framework. This mode of training gives him access not only to technique and repertoire but also to the aesthetic values that define the tradition he inherits.

The Abhisheki lineage is associated with a wide circle of respected musicians and disciples, including Asha Khadilkar, Devaki Pandit, Shubha Mudgal, Ajit Kadkade, Raja Kale, Prabhakar Karekar, and Vijay Koparkar.
