The National Centre for the Performing Arts, widely known as NCPA, is India’s leading multi-genre cultural institution, established to preserve and promote the performing arts. Located in Mumbai, the centre hosts hundreds of events annually across Indian classical music, theatre, dance, opera, jazz, film, and global performances. Founded through the vision of J. R. D. History

The National Centre for the Performing Arts was inaugurated in 1969 as South Asia’s first multi-venue performing arts centre. Conceived by J. R. D. Tata and Jamshed Bhabha, the institution evolved into India’s foremost cultural hub, hosting international productions, classical arts festivals, educational programs, and the Symphony Orchestra of India.
