The album contains eight tracks. Shankar opens the record with a cover of Jumpin’ Jack Flash, originally by The Rolling Stones, reinterpreting the song with sitar and tabla. Snow Flower follows as an instrumental composition featuring Shankar on sitar alongside Western percussion and basslines. The third track, Light My Fire, adapts The Doors’ 1967 hit with Indian classical instrumentation, emphasizing raga-inspired improvisations.
Shankar composes the remaining tracks as original works. Mamata (Affection) showcases a melodic fusion of sitar and orchestral arrangements, while Metamorphosis explores progressive structural shifts between Indian and Western harmonic frameworks. Sagar (The Ocean) employs drone-based textures and rhythmic patterns to evoke its titular theme. Dance Indra integrates funk grooves with Carnatic rhythmic cycles, and the closing track, Raghupati, reworks the traditional bhajan with electric guitar and synthesizers.
The album’s production reflects Shankar’s training under Ravi Shankar and his exposure to 1960s counterculture. While specific sales figures and chart performances remain undocumented, the release gained recognition in underground music circles for its experimental approach.
