She’s Auspicious – Dance Production by Mythili Prakash | BroadStage, Santa Monica (4 April 2026)

“She’s Auspicious” is a contemporary dance production created and performed by Mythili Prakash, presented by the Kalaivanar Foundation at The Eli & Edythe Broad Stage, Santa Monica, California, on 4 April 2026 at 7:00 PM. The performance brings together dance and music in a full-length work that examines themes surrounding feminine identity, mythology, and cultural symbolism.

The production features an all-female ensemble and explores the relationship between the reverence for female deities and the lived experiences of women in society. Drawing inspiration from classical Indian dance traditions while incorporating contemporary choreographic approaches, the performance investigates the paradox between the divine feminine and social realities, presenting a layered interpretation of mythology, ritual, and gender.

The performance includes contributions from artists Jahnavi Kalyan, Shubha Chandramouli, Jessica Sitaramya, Malini Taneja, Roopa Mahadevan, Nikita Rao, and Keerthana Sankar. Proceeds from the event will support the SABA North America Foundation, which works with South Asian survivors of domestic violence, linking artistic performance with social awareness and community engagement.
