Prabhakar Kashyap

Dr. Prabhakar Kashyap is a Hindustani classical vocalist who performs as part of the duet Dr. Prabhakar–Diwakar Kashyap (Kashyap Bandhu). The duo is trained in the Hindustani vocal tradition and are disciples of Pt. Rajan-Sajan Mishra.

Their performance repertoire includes classical ragas such as Malkauns, Todi, and Maru Bihag, along with semi-classical forms like Tappa. They are known for presenting traditional khayal and duet (jugalbandi) formats.

Both artists hold doctoral degrees in music and have been associated with academic institutions such as Panjab University, Chandigarh. They are graded artists of AIR (All India Radio) and Doordarshan.

The Kashyap Bandhu were awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (for the year 2020) by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, recognizing their contribution to Hindustani vocal music.

Their recent appearances include performances at major classical music festivals such as the Vasantotsava at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi. Their work continues to focus on performance and the presentation of Hindustani classical vocal music.
