Biography
Mamta Joshi is a celebrated Indian Sufi and folk singer from Chandigarh, widely recognised for her soulful renditions of Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi music traditions. A recipient of the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar presented by the Sangeet Natak Akademi in 2015, she is known for preserving and popularising Sufi and Punjabi folk heritage through live concerts and recordings. Alongside her musical career, she also serves as an assistant professor in Chandigarh. Dr Joshi has performed at major literary and cultural festivals, including Jashn-e-Adab and Jashn-e-Rekhta, and has toured internationally, including performances across the United States. Her notable works include Asan Ishq Namaaz, Kamli De Saiyaan, Heer Waris Shah Di, and Maahi.
