Ashis Paul is a Hindustani classical tabla player based in Kolkata, associated with the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. He is recognized for his work as both a solo performer and an accompanist, contributing to the rhythmic framework of vocal and instrumental concerts within the Hindustani tradition.

He has accompanied artists such as Brajeswar Mukherjee, Shreya Chatterjee, and Shadaj Iyer and has collaborated with instrumentalists, including sarangi and harmonium performers. His performance style reflects proficiency across talas such as Teentaal and Rupak, with a focus on clarity, speed, and structured improvisation in drut and madhya laya presentations.
