About
Biography
Shreya Chatterjee is trained in Hindustani classical vocal music under the guru–shishya parampara at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata. Her musical focus lies in the khayal tradition, with concert presentations built around detailed raga exposition and bandish-based development.
She appears regularly in ITC SRA’s Wednesday Recital series and related institutional platforms. Her documented performances include ragas such as Malkauns, Maru Behag, Rageshree, Kamod, Marwa, and Hameer, alongside semi-classical forms like thumri in Raga Pilu and traditional dadra compositions.
In late 2025, she was featured in events such as the Mini Sangeeth Sammelan and collaborative concert evenings that included senior artists such as Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. In performance, she is commonly accompanied by Ashoke Mukherjee on tabla and Rupashree Bhattacharya on harmonium.
A separate individual named Shreya Chatterjee Ghosh is active in Kolkata as a vocal instructor and special educator; this is a different person and not the ITC SRA vocalist described above.
