Biography
Pandit Abhishek Mishra belongs to the Banaras gharana and represents a continuous family tradition of professional musicianship spanning seven generations. His early training began in childhood under his grandfather, Pandit Surendra Mohan Mishra, grounding him in the compositional and rhythmic framework of the Banaras style.
He is known for his command over layakari and the clear articulation associated with the Banaras tradition. Alongside solo tabla recitals, he is active as an accompanist for vocal, instrumental, and dance performances.
He has appeared with senior artists across different genres of Hindustani classical music and maintains an active international presence through concert tours. His career includes early public performances in childhood and continued engagement with festival and concert circuits in India and abroad.
