Rastriya Nach Ghar is one of the most prominent performing arts venues in Kathmandu, Nepal, located in the Jamal area of the city. Operated by the National Cultural Corporation, the venue is dedicated to presenting a wide range of artistic performances including theatre productions, classical and folk music concerts, traditional dance programmes, and cultural festivals.
The venue features multiple performance spaces, including two main auditoriums and a dedicated event hall. The primary auditorium has a seating capacity of more than 600 people and is equipped with professional stage lighting, modern sound systems, and strong acoustic design, making it suitable for large-scale performances, concerts, and theatrical productions. The complex also provides exhibition areas for artists and convenient visitor facilities.
Rastriya Nach Ghar regularly hosts national and international cultural events, including theatre performances, music concerts, and traditional dance showcases. Notable programmes have included Natya Utsav festivals, Mount Everest International Music and Dance Sports Championship events, spiritual music concerts, and traditional dance presentations such as the Magar community’s Kaura dance. The venue also houses a rare Chaturmurti sculpture dating back to the 3rd century AD, reflecting the historical and cultural significance of the site.
