About Subramaniam Foundation
Subramaniam Foundation is a registered charitable trust founded by renowned violin maestro Dr. L. Subramaniam and celebrated playback singer Kavita Krishnamurti to promote music education, cultural exchange, and the preservation of Indian and global musical traditions. Based in Bengaluru, the foundation manages initiatives such as the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival, the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts (SAPA), SaPa in Schools, and the Lakshminarayana Global Centre of Excellence. It also supports artist welfare, educational outreach, and international collaborations in classical and contemporary music.
History
Subramaniam Foundation was established in 2005 by Dr L. Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurti with the vision of preserving India’s musical heritage while creating global pathways for music education and artistic collaboration. Building upon the success of the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival, founded in 1992, the foundation expanded into structured music education, artist welfare initiatives, school outreach programs, and international cultural exchange projects.
