Shivanand Swami Sangeet Pratishthan (SSSP) is a public charitable trust founded in 1981 by Pt. Gajananrao Joshi to preserve and promote Hindustani classical music. Shivanand Swami Sangeet Pratishthan was established in 1981 by Pt. Gajananrao Joshi to sustain and advance the traditions of Hindustani classical music. Rooted in Maharashtra, the trust carries forward the artistic legacy of Pt. Gajananbuwa Joshi and Pt. Anant Manohar Joshi, whose contributions form the spiritual and musical foundation of the institution.
The organization is widely recognized for curating the annual Aundh Sangeet Mahotsav, a unique 24-hour continuous music festival held in Aundh, Satara. By 2025, the festival had reached its 85th edition, making it one of the oldest and most enduring classical music gatherings in India. The Mahotsav regularly features leading vocalists and instrumentalists, including artists such as Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar and Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi, alongside promising younger performers.
In addition to the Mahotsav, SSSP organizes concerts and commemorative events such as the Pt. Anant Manohar Joshi Smrutidin, which has featured eminent musicians, including Vidushi Shubha Mudgal. The trust’s programs span classical vocal, sitar, and harmonium recitals, reflecting a balanced approach to tradition and continuity.
