About Bangalore International Centre
Bangalore International Centre (BIC) serves as a platform for conversations, cultural engagement, and knowledge-sharing across diverse disciplines. Bringing together artists, academics, professionals, policymakers, and citizens, the organisation presents talks, discussions, performances, film screenings, and educational programmes that encourage critical thinking and community participation. BIC promotes inclusivity and social harmony through accessible events that explore contemporary issues, culture, public policy, science, literature, and the arts. Its programmes are designed to create meaningful exchanges of ideas while supporting Bengaluru's role as a dynamic cultural and intellectual centre.
History
Founded in November 2005, Bangalore International Centre was established to encourage dialogue across cultures, communities, and disciplines. The institution was inaugurated by former President of India Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. After operating from TERI's premises for several years, BIC moved into its purpose-built 48,000-square-foot campus in 2019, with support from members, donors, and institutional partners.
