A Drop in the Bucket is a collaborative track by percussionist James Asher and Indian rhythm artist Sivamani. The composition appears as the sixth track on the album Drums on Fire, released on 2002 under the label New Earth Records. The album adopted an enhanced CD format, combining audio tracks with multimedia content.

The track spans 4 minutes and 11 seconds, featuring a fusion of Western and Carnatic rhythmic traditions. Asher contributed frame drums, handpans and synthesized textures, while Sivamani integrated kanjira, mridangam and conventional drum kit elements. The recording sessions occurred in studios across Chennai and London, though specific production credits remain partially undocumented.

Drums on Fire marked a cross-cultural exploration of percussive styles, with A Drop in the Bucket exemplifying the album’s layered polyrhythms and ambient undertones.
