Theek Ahe Chaan Ahe Masta Ahe

Theek Ahe Chaan Ahe Masta Ahe is a studio album in the Marathi natyasangeet and sugam sangeet traditions. Mandar Agashe produced the album under his independent label Agashe Records. The project features vocal performances by Rahul Deshpande, Pranjali Barve, Dhanashree Ganatra and Aarya Ambekar alongside Agashe himself. The label released the album in digital media format on June 5, 2021.

The album comprises 21 tracks that reinterpret classical and semi-classical Marathi compositions. Notable selections include Konas Wicharat Nahi, a devotional piece rendered in raag Yaman, and Door Door Chandanyat, a thumri-style track with light classical ornamentation. The unplugged version of Jarasa Haat De strips instrumentation to highlight vocal phrasing, while Awaghech Shabda Maze and Mi Ha Phire employ rhythmic patterns derived from dadra and keherwa talas. Swair Ha Prawas and Toch Mi incorporate folk motifs alongside classical structures. The closing track Lagale Dole Tuze adopts a tarana-like improvisational approach.

Rahul Deshpande contributes lead vocals to five tracks, including Prem Sangayas Maze and Manya Mi Kela, both of which utilize khayal-inspired melodic development. Pranjali Barve performs Evhadhi Mazi Nako and Khare Ase Bolawe, emphasizing lyrical clarity over embellishment. Dhanashree Ganatra and Aarya Ambekar appear on Mi Ha Phire and Jarasa Haat De (Unplugged) respectively, with arrangements that reduce harmonic density to focus on vocal timbre. Mandar Agashe provides backing vocals across all tracks and leads on Konas Wicharat Nahi.

The production employs minimal acoustic instrumentation, primarily featuring tanpura, harmonium, tabla and occasional string accompaniment. Recording sessions took place at Agashe Records’ studios in Pune, though specific session dates and additional personnel remain undocumented. The album received an official premiere on June 5, 2021, via digital platforms without prior singles or promotional releases.
