Biography
Yogeesh Bhat is a talented Indian classical percussionist from Karnataka, known for his expressive tabla playing and refined sense of rhythm. Born into a music-loving family in Sagar, Shivamogga, he began learning tabla at the age of four and now trains under renowned maestros Pandit Ravindra Yavagal and Sri Kiran Yavagal. Along with his foundation in Hindustani music, he also explores Carnatic and fusion styles, studying the Carnatic thala system under Vidwan K. U. Jayachandra Rao. A recipient of several awards, including the CCRT Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and the SAMMAN 2020 title by Shankar Mahadevan Academy, Yogeesh has performed across India and abroad, accompanying many leading artists and being part of the Guinness World Record–winning “Taal Ninaad” concert.
