Tejas Majgaonkar

Tejas Majgaonkar is an emerging tabla artist in the Hindustani classical tradition, appreciated for his attentive accompaniment and commitment to classical music. Based in Pune, he is active on the Indian classical concert circuit and performs regularly at respected festivals and music gatherings.

He is known as a supportive and responsive accompanist for both vocalists and instrumentalists. His collaborations include performances with vocalists such as Sai Eishwary Mahashabde and Rasika Vartak, as well as with harmonium player Suvendu Banerjee. His playing focuses on maintaining balance, clarity, and sensitivity to the main artist’s style.

Among his notable appearances, Tejas has been associated with programs connected to the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, including performances at the India Habitat Centre. He has also accompanied artists at the Pt. Vishnu Digambar Festival in Pune during its centenary celebrations. A regular presence at the Lonavala Khandala Sangeet Sammelan (LKSS), he is often featured as a promising young accompanist.

He has also taken part in the “Guru Abhivadan” series at TaalYogi Ashram, where he explored creative formats such as Cajon–Tabla collaborations, reflecting openness to experimentation within a classical framework.

Beyond performance, Tejas contributes to the presentation side of cultural events. He has worked on poster design and video editing for programs such as “Pulse” at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), showing involvement in the visual and production aspects of the arts.

With growing experience on stage and across festivals, Tejas Majgaonkar represents a new generation of tabla players balancing tradition, collaboration, and contemporary presentation.
