Biography
Swarali Joshi’s musical journey is rooted in a strong classical and family tradition. Her initial training came from her mother, Smt. Smita Joshi, who laid the foundation of her understanding of Hindustani music. She later undertook rigorous training under Vidushi Dr. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, one of the foremost exponents of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in classical vocal from the Bruhad Gujarat Sangeet Samiti, Ahmedabad. Swarali came into the public eye after emerging as the runner-up on the popular Marathi television show Sur Nava Dhyas Nava, which brought her work to a wider audience.
Her musical range spans classical Khayal gayaki and extends to semi-classical and devotional genres, including Abhangs and Bhakti Sangeet. Among her notable songs are Sundar Sawali Murti Ti Sajiri (from the album Tu Majhi Mauli), Sur Ganesh, and Dhunda.
Swarali has performed at respected platforms such as the Vidushi Manik Bhide Smruti Sangeet Samaroh and the First Sunday Music Mehfil. Through these appearances and her growing body of work, she continues to establish herself as a committed and evolving voice in contemporary Hindustani classical music.
