Biography

Sulochana Brahaspati (born 1937, Allahabad) is a Hindustani classical vocalist associated with the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana and the Rampur-Sadarang parampara.

She received training from Pandit Bholanath Bhat, Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan, and Acharya K.C.D. Brahaspati. Her repertoire includes compositions such as khayal, thumri, tappa, and dadra.

She has been active as a performer, teacher, and musicologist and has authored works including Raga Rahasya.

She received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1994, along with other recognitions, including the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and the Tansen Samman.
