Biography
Sarvar Sabri is a tabla player and composer associated with Indian classical music and cross-cultural collaborations. He performs as a soloist and accompanist with vocalists, instrumentalists, and Kathak dancers.
He has appeared at venues including the Southbank Centre, London, and has performed for the BBC, ITV, and Channel 4. He has also participated in international concerts and festivals, including BBC Live 2000 in Birmingham.
He has worked with orchestras and ensembles, including BCMG, Bournemouth Sinfonietta, CBSO, and Sinfonia Baltica. He is the founder of the Sabri Ensemble, which explores collaborations across Indian, jazz, and Western musical traditions.
He has composed music for film, television, dance, and theater and has been involved in educational projects. He is based in Birmingham and has been associated with teaching at Birmingham Conservatoire.
