Ritesh Mishra

Rajnish and Ritesh Mishra, popularly known as Mishra Bandhu, are Hindustani classical vocalists representing the Banaras gharana. Known for their refined duet singing style, they have developed a synchronized approach that balances individual expression with collective improvisation. Their performances include khayal, tappa, tarana, and devotional forms, reflecting a deep engagement with traditional raga-based music.

Trained under their father, Pt. Rajan Misra, and uncle, Pt. Sajan Misra, the duo continues a sixth-generation lineage of musicians. Their musical upbringing within a family of distinguished artists has shaped their aesthetic and technical grounding, enabling them to sustain the intricate demands of duet performance in Indian classical music.

Mishra Bandhu has performed at major national and international platforms and has collaborated with composers such as Michael Nyman. Their work includes recordings such as Sangam and contributions to projects recognized on global platforms. Recipients of awards, including the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Award, they remain active contributors to the contemporary Hindustani classical music landscape.
