Biography
Rahul Wadhwani is an Indian jazz pianist and composer based in Mumbai. His musical work focuses on jazz blended with soul and modern harmonic textures, and he is active in both performance and composition.
He pursued formal studies in jazz music in Austria, training at institutions in Gaspoltshofen (LMS Gaspoltshofen) and Vienna, which contributed to his grounding in European jazz traditions.
Among his key creative projects is the 2025 album Time Travel, which includes compositions such as “Dot in a Circle” and “Song for Zakir Hussain.” He has also worked on the duo project and album Exploration Beyond the Borders, recorded in Austria with trumpet player Manfred Weinberger.
Rahul Wadhwani has performed and collaborated with artists including Trilok Gurtu, Gino Banks, Shantanu Moitra, and Ranjit Barot, contributing to cross-genre and contemporary music settings.
In addition to performing, he has been involved in music education, serving as Piano Faculty and Head of the Jazz Department at NMIMS for four years, where he contributed to structured jazz training.
